Television Filming

In April and then again in May 2007, a BBC film crew arrived, to film cattle, volunteers and wildlife on the hill. THe expectation is that in Autumn 2007, the "regional" 10-minutes slot at the end of the Alan-Titchmarsh hosted "The Nature of Brtain" evening program will be about us. Watch this space - or your TV's.

Alan has been busy all summer filming for a natural history series – The Nature of Britain – to be transmitted on BBC1 in autumn 2007. Filming continues through 2007 – ‘landmark’ series take a long time to make! The series looks at plant and animal relationships in a host of different habitats – from fields and woodland to streams, rivers and coasts. There’s masses of luscious footage in the can already, and Alan has had to learn to dive to deliver underwater pieces to camera, as well as going aloft in a glider in the Cairngorms and to a North Sea oilrig. The hour-long programmes, scheduled for transmission on BBC1, will each contain a ten-minute segment filmed locally by 14 different regions across Britain, highlighting wildlife that can be seen in your area."
